Cultural Curation Project Donations

This project has been grateful for the Canada Council of the Arts for providing a grant that allowed for the creation of the training and payments of the artists involved. Now that the training is created, the funding to continue the sustainability of this project, continuous engagement with trainees, and further project development is being done without any payment. All donations will be used towards financing the hours spent for the project lead to continue to engage in this work. While the training is free of charge, I invite you to consider your social location and your capacity to invest in Indigenous innovation and arts. Below is a quick look at some considerations to take when deciding how much to donate to this training, depending on your social location.

The following payment method is using PayPal. If there is another way you would like to make a donation, please contact us directly.

Considerations When Donating

If You Are an Indigenous Person….

If you are an Indigenous person, there is no expectation to make any donation. I believe that the knowledge shared in this training is sacred and must be accessible to all of our kin. So, please continue to engage in the training with no expectations.

If You Are an Individual Settler…

As an Individual settler, I encourage you to reflect on what is doable for you when it comes to making a donation. Please pay what you can. If a donation is not currently possible for you, feel free to save this page and come back later. You are also welcome to start the training and share a donation at the end.

If You Are Representing an Organization or Institute…

If representing an institution, I encourage you to speak with your team about specific funds that are dedicated towards professional development. My hope is that it is financial support from institutions that can feed into the longevity of this project.

If You Are a Recent Immigrant…

If you are a recent immigrant in Canada hoping to learn more about Indigenous peoples in relation to art, I ask that you also relieve yourself from any pressure to donate. There are not enough opportunities for recent Immigrants to learn about Indigenous cultures in Canada. So, allow this training to fill the gap between what larger institutes should already be providing to you.

If You Want to Use Traditional Trade Systems…

If money is not an option to you, I am also open to exchanging goods and services that can either replace payment for the hours spent in this project, or trades that can allow this project to further develop. Contact me via email to discuss this further.
